When you think of sustainable fashion, China might not be the first place that comes to mind.
Indeed, it took a bit of investigation to find genuine brands showcasing their commitment to the environment and their dedication to producing beautiful, high-quality clothing. Are you curious to know who they are? Keep reading!

Loop Swim is a sustainable swimwear brand that creates eco-friendly swimwear from recycled plastic bottles and discarded fishing nets, aiming to reduce the fashion industry’s environmental impact.
By transforming these recycled materials into high-quality yarn, which is then woven or knitted into fabric, Loop Swim ensures that sustainability and fashion can coexist seamlessly. Their collection boasts a variety of trendy and functional designs, from Classic One-Pieces and High-Waisted Bikinis to Sporty Two-Pieces and Cut-Out One-Pieces, all priced between $50 and $150.
Loop Swim places a strong emphasis on ethical manufacturing practices, ensuring fair labor conditions and minimizing their environmental footprint. Their products are designed to be durable and long-lasting, helping to reduce the need for frequent replacements and lowering overall consumption.
Among their stylish offerings, my personal favorite is the Jazmine One-Piece. Made from 12 recycled plastic bottles, it combines elegance and timeless appeal, perfectly showcasing the brand’s dedication to eco-friendly fashion.
Beyond creating sustainable swimwear, Loop Swim is committed to supporting social and environmental causes. Their "Give Back" page details the organizations they support through donations, reflecting their broader commitment to making a positive impact. Plus, with worldwide shipping, eco-conscious shoppers everywhere can enjoy their stylish, sustainable swimwear.

Among their standout products are the Eco Knit Sneakers, each pair ingeniously made from eight recycled plastic bottles, bamboo fiber, and algae. KOKOLU also offers a versatile collection of tote bags perfect for both daily use and evening outings, with prices ranging from $40 to $60 USD.

Norlha is a brand that specializes in luxury, sustainable fashion made from yak wool. Founded in 2007 by Kim and Dechen Yeshi, Norlha operates on the Tibetan Plateau, where they handcraft their products using traditional techniques. The brand focuses on creating high-quality scarves, shawls, clothing, and homewares, all made from yak khullu (aka wool), a soft, durable, and warm fiber.
Their mission is to balance modern technology with traditional knowledge, supporting the local community by employing former nomads as artisans.
Yak wool has some amazing qualities, it is incredibly warm, even warmer than merino wool. This makes it ideal for cold climates and despite its warmth, yak wool is very soft and comfortable against the skin, similar to cashmere. I was surprised to learn that Yak wool is also a sustainable choice as Yaks are naturally adapted to harsh climates and do not require intensive farming practices. The wool is harvested by combing the yaks during their molting season, which is a humane and environmentally friendly process.
Norlha offers a beautiful collection of luxury women’s clothing made from yak wool. Their pieces are known for their exceptional softness, durability, and warmth. The collection includes a variety of items such as skirts, shirts, capes, dresses, and coats. By employing local artisans, Norlha supports the community’s economic development and helps maintain cultural heritage. The company is committed to fair wages and ethical working conditions.
I like that each piece of clothing is handcrafted, ensuring high quality and uniqueness, their products range from around $100 for smaller accessories to over $1,000 for more intricate pieces and they offer international shipping.
I hope this post has inspired you to explore and support conscious fashion brands made in China. By choosing sustainable options like these handpicked brands you not only add unique and stylish pieces to your wardrobe but also contribute to meaningful social and environmental change.
